About the Book:
A Promise Kept Inspirational Guide for Family Caregivers presents practical suggestions accompanied by words of inspiration for family caregivers to avoid fatigue, stress, and burnout. The book is designed for individual study to encourage and support caregivers as they care for aging parents or loved ones with debilitating illnesses or physical disabilities. Caregiving can be rewarding but challenging to the caregiver to stay healthy spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Readers can learn from caregiver stories and identify areas they can be strengthened. Finding moments in their day, for rest, exercise, personal activities, and staying connected with family and friends becomes quality time for caregivers.
Scott Grant, of www.grayingwithgrace.com, recommends A Promise Kept Inspirational Guide for Family Caregivers as a helpful book for managing caregiver stress.
A gerontologist’s review at Amazon recommends the book saying, “not only is it inspirational, but practical, and an interactive guide to assist families in the caregiving journey.”
Laura Evans, a group leader for the Care Givers Outreach Ministry in her church, uses the workbook to run a six-week series every quarter. She says, “The workbook gives practical ideas to help sustain you, enrich your faith, and network.”

Book review excerpt for A Promise Kept from Shreveport Times:
Caregiver shares experience in book, honors others with event
Bonita Bandaries was a full-time caregiver for her mother for five years.
That experience led her to write a book and a study guide to encourage other caregivers. Along the way she started an annual family-caregiver celebration.
Bandaries wrote “A Promise Kept” about topics such as worry, anxiety and love when caregiving. “I wrote comments about each and shared scriptures which were encouraging to me as a caregiver,” she said.
The book includes contributions from local residents and offers suggestions to find respite during the day.
